There are currently around 850,000 people in the UK with dementia, it mainly affects people over the age of 65 however, dementia is not a natural part of ageing and doesn’t just effect the older generation. In fact over 40,000 people under 65 in the UK have dementia and this is called early on-set or young on-set dementia.
There are many signs to look out for when people have dementia including memory loss, difficulty with planning, thinking things through, struggling to keep up with conversation and changes in mood or behaviour.
