British Food Fortnight 2026: 26th September to 11th October
British Food Fortnight is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the incredible food produced right here in the UK. From fresh, seasonal fruit and vegetables to locally sourced meats, dairy and homemade treats, there’s so much to be proud of when it comes to British food.
At Becketts Farm, championing great British food is something we love to do all year round. The fortnight is a chance for us to inspire you to shop local and get involved in supporting our local food producers.
Whether you’re looking for inspiration for your next family breakfast, a tasty lunch, comforting evening meal or a well-deserved pudding, our Farm Shop has plenty to explore.
Breakfast: Start your day the right way!
Set yourself up for the day with a satisfying breakfast. Our very own Becketts Bakery bread is produced here in our Farm Shop by our expert bakers. Using traditional recipes, we produce a range of loaves and rolls for you to choose from. Pair a fresh loaf with free-range eggs, Evesham tomatoes, and delicious bacon and sausages made using prime cuts of pork and you’ve got yourself a full British lineup for a top-notch breakfast.
For those who prefer a simpler start to the day, we stock a range of lovingly harvested local honey. Spread on toast or add to porridge or granola with a handful of fresh berries. Not only does it taste great, but it has an array of health benefits too!
Lunch: Fresh and full of flavour!
Lunchtime doesn’t have to be complicated. With a few quality ingredients, you can create a great lunch to
enjoy at home or on the go. For a light lunch, pick up a homemade Becketts Farmhouse Quiche, made on site by our Deli team. Or make your own Ploughman’s using some of the artisan cheeses from the Deli. Our team works with fantastic suppliers sourcing the finest cheeses Britain has to offer.
For a fuss-free lunch, visit our Sandwich Bar for a freshly prepared sandwich, made just how you like it.
Dinner: Bring British ingredients to the table.
Dinner is a great time to get creative in the kitchen using seasonal produce and to spend quality time with friends and family. Whether it be a traditional roast dinner, homemade pie, seasonal soup or one-pot meal, there are plenty of ways to include British ingredients.
Our Butchery team works hard to source top-quality British meats and are always happy to share their cooking tips. Pick up a rib of beef or joint of pork for a roast dinner centrepiece, minced steak for a hearty cottage pie or perhaps stewing steak for a warming pie or casserole. Why not try our recipe for this slow-cooked steak, ale and mustard pie.
Alternatively, use seasonal vegetables to create a comforting soup, served with a crusty bread and butter.
Pudding: Finish with something sweet
No celebration of British food would be complete without a little something sweet! Classic British puddings
such as fruit pies and crumbles, sticky toffee, jam roly poly or bread and butter pudding are ideal for enjoying in these autumn months.
Bramley apples are in the peak of their season right now and ideal for baking into a delicious crumble, served with warm custard or ice cream. Check out our recipe for this Bramley apple, ginger and oat crumble.
We’re also proud to stock a selection of dairy ice cream produced by Bennetts Farm in Worcester. They have been producing luxurious ice cream since 1982 and use fresh whole milk from the family farm. Rich and creamy, their ice cream makes a simple but tasty pudding.
