Online Purchases – Terms and Conditions

1 Introduction

These terms and conditions (‘the term’) set out your rights and obligations, and those of A.E. Beckett and Sons Ltd (‘we or us’), in relation to this website www.beckettsfarm.co.uk (‘the website’),  and any products, services and material of any kind available through the site.

We are a company registered in England and Wales under registration number 682856 under the name A.E. Beckett and Sons Ltd; the address of the registered office is Heath Farm, Alcester Road, Wythall, Birmingham, B47 6AJ. Our VAT registration number is 109626664. When we refer to ‘Becketts Farm’ in these terms, we mean us and the site according to the context.

By registering with Becketts Farm you accept you are entering into a contract with us under these terms. People who register with Becketts Farm establish ‘an account’ and become ‘users’. Visitors to Becketts Farm website who do not register with us, but never the less use the site, affirm that they are bound by these terms each time they access the website. You must be at least 16 years of age to use this website, if you do not agree to these terms you must not use this website.

These Terms, the services and each order and purchase of a product shall be governed by English law.

You and we each submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in relation to disputes arising in connection with these Terms, the Services and any order for or purchase of a product.

We don’t separately file the Terms entered into by Users when they register with Becketts Farm. Please make a durable copy of these Terms by printing and/or saving a downloaded copy on your own computer. They are offered in English only.

2 Trading details

Whenever you buy a product through this website you will be contracting with A.E. Beckett and Sons Ltd, a limited liability company incorporating in England and Wales under company number 682856.

3 Ordering from us

3.1 Placing your order

A contract for the purchase of the product is created as follows:

  • The user places the order on the site by pressing the order confirmation button at the end of the checkout process.
  • By confirming your order, you are agreeing to purchase the product you have selected.
  • At this point, we take payment for your order by means of your nominated payment method.
  • You will receive an order confirmation and receipt via email.

From time to time, we may reject an order for the following reasons:

  • If, unfortunately, we do not have your chosen product in stock.
  • Where we cannot obtain authorisation for your payment.
  • If there has been a relevant pricing or product description error.
  • If your order other wise breaches any of the requirements of these terms.
  • We suspect that the order has been placed fraudulently.

If your order is rejected, we will contact you to confirm this and will reverse the payment you have made for that order.

We may prevent an individual account, user, email address or other identifier from making purchases or interacting with us where we reasonably suspect fraudulent activity or infringements of the law.

3.2 Payment

You can pay for your products using credit or debit card at the time of your order.

3.3 Expiry Dates 

The products offered on our website include a variety of gift vouchers. These can be split into two distinct types:

a) Monetary vouchers to be redeemed against products in our Restaurant or Farm Shop

b) Experience vouchers to be redeemed against an experience ‘Service’ offered in our Restaurant or Cookery School

All of our vouchers have set expiry dates which are noted clearly upon their individual product webpages prior to purchase, and will be indicated clearly on the physical voucher which you receive to gift to the recipient.

The expiry dates are as follows:

  • Afternoon Cream Tea for Two Gift Voucher – 12 months from date of purchase
  • Afternoon Cream Tea for Two With Prosecco Gift Voucher – 12 months from date of purchase
  • Butchery Masterclass Gift Voucher – 24 months from date of purchase
  • Farm Shop and Restaurant Gift Voucher – 24 months from date of purchase
  • Cookery School Open Gift Voucher – 6 months from date of purchase. The date of the recipients chosen course may fall outside of the expiration date, provided they have called and made a booking for the cookery course in advance of the expiry date.

As the purchaser it is your responsibility that you understand and accept the expiry date given. It is your responsibility to make sure that the recipient of your gift voucher has enough time to spend it and also to make them aware of the expiry date and other important conditions when you gift it to them.

If you purchase a cookery school experience voucher against a specific course date and time, then the voucher applies only to the specified date and time. It is your responsibility to check or make arrangements for the recipient to be available to attend the course on that particular date and time. If for any reason they are unable to make that date and time, we will be happy to reschedule their booking within the terms laid out under section 6 of these terms.

4 Pricing and VAT of products

All prices of products available to purchase via the website include value added tax at the prevailing rate.

5 Delivery

5.1 Postal Vouchers

If you have ordered a postal gift voucher from the website, this will be dispatched within 3 – 5 working days to the address provided. It is your responsibility that the delivery address you provide for any order you place is correct; all postal gift voucher orders are posted first class via Royal Mail. Neither we, nor any delivery service that we use, shall be liable for any failure to perform. Services where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our reasonable control; these circumstances include but are not limited to adverse weather conditions (such as snow, flood and extreme winds), fire, explosion, accident, traffic congestion, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, terrorism, act of God, or industrial dispute or strike.

6 Changing or cancelling an order

It is best to call us if you need to cancel or change your order, dial 01564 823402. Please have your order number or the email address you registered with us available, so we can answer your query as quickly as possible. If the order has been dispatched unfortunately it cannot be amended, cancelled or refunded.

If you have booked a space on a cookery course, we require 48 hours’ notice for any cancellation for us to reschedule you onto another course date. In rescheduling your space, we can only move you onto a course which falls within 6 months from the original date of your course.

7 Use of the website

7.1 Intellectual property

All text, software, music, sound, photograph’s, graphics, video, page layouts, design and other material that appears on the website or app is protected by A.E. Beckett and Sons Ltd copyright. You are not allowed to remove any copyright, or any other intellectual property contained in material taken from Becketts Farm. No-one may copy, distribute, show in public or create any derivative work from Becketts Farm unless properly licensed in writing by us to do so.

7.2 Service access

We will always try to ensure that the Becketts Farm website is available 24 hours a day, however we will not be liable if for any reason this are unavailable at any time, and will always try to notify of planned downtime for essential maintenance. The information contained in this website is for general information purposes only. The information is provided by Becketts Farm and while we endeavour to keep the information up to date and correct, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability with respect to the website or the information, products, services, or related graphics contained on the website for any purpose. Any reliance you place on such information is therefore strictly at your own risk.

In no event will we be liable for any loss or damage including without limitation, indirect or consequential loss or damage, or any loss or damage whatsoever arising from loss of data or profits arising out of, or in connection with, the use of this website.

Through this website you can link to other websites which are not under the control of Becketts Farm. We have no control over the nature, content and availability of those sites. The inclusion of any links does not necessarily imply a recommendation or endorse the views expressed within them.

8 Offers and promotions

The offers and promotions which we make available on our website are governed by separate terms and conditions, which we will make available to you for the duration of the offer or promotion.
