With the bank holiday weekend upon us, we’ve put a spotlight on some of the amazing local breweries whose beers we are proud to stock. Our shelves are brimming full of over 100 different ales, beers, and ciders from select producers. These breweries are all within a 40-mile radius of our Farm Shop. With multiple awards between them, some fantastically innovative and sustainable processes, and some truly characterful brews, we’re so proud to support the best that the region has to offer. Why not grab a bottle or two and try something new this bank holiday weekend?
Purity Brewing Co.
Distance from Farm Shop: 12 miles
Set in the heart of the Warwickshire countryside, Purity Brewing Company is only 12 miles away from our Farm Shop. Purity Brewing Co. was established in 2005 and they now have 14 beers and ales in their portfolio.
Sustainability is at the heart of their production process, with spent yeast going to local farmers for pig food while their spent grain and hops are sold as fertilizer.
Featured product: Purity Pure Gold was the first beer to flow through the Purity brewhouse, their original brew. This makes it a firm favourite here with customers and is an easy drinking beer full of character.
Brew 61
Distance from Farm Shop: 13 miles
Founded in 2019, Brew 61 is an award-winning micro-brewery based 13 miles away on a family farm in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire.
Each of their beers are light in colour and have a clean and fresh taste, inspired by the countryside. The family also keep a herd of Highland cattle and a flock of Dorset sheep, with their brewing by-products used as food for the livestock.
Featured product: Brambling Best is brewed with traditional hops including Fuggles and Bramling Cross hops. Best served chilled, this refreshing bitter has a delicate hint of tangerine.
Windmill Hill Brewing Company
Distance from Farm Shop: 21 miles
Based in Leamington Spa, Windmill Hill Brewery have taken inspiration for their name and logo from the nearby landmark, Chesterton Windmill.
As well as their brewery, Windmill Hill have a generously sized taproom and offer guided brewery tours. The small but dedicated team experiment with processes and flavours to create their unique range of beers.
Featured product: Their Copper Ale pours as a striking reddish copper colour. It’s smooth on the palate with a malted flavour, giving an enjoyable taste.
Bewdley Brewery
Distance from Farm Shop: 24 miles
Worcestershire-based Bewdley Brewery are set alongside the river Severn and produce over half a million pints of beer per year. They were established in 2008 and have over 15 regular and seasonal beers on their repertoire.
Each of their beer is made using just four ingredients – Malted Barley, Water, Hops, and Yeast.
Featured product: Worcestershire Way is aptly named after the 36 mile walk between Bewdley and Malvern. At 3.6% ABV, it’s a refreshing beer which is pale in colour and has a citrus after tone.
Napton Cidery
Distance from Farm Shop: 32 miles
Napton Cidery is family-run and nestled in the rolling hills of Warwickshire. Their first batch of cider was made using the apples in their garden. What started as a hobby soon became a business, as Napton Cidery was formed in 2015. They started to collect unwanted apples from the village and surrounding orchards to press a simple 2000 litres. Now, they produce well over 160,000 litres per year.
Featured product: Recipe No. 5 Blackcurrant is a bold fruit cider made using the very best traditionally grown apples and British blackcurrants. Its fruity aroma is ideal for enjoying chilled on a sunny day.
The Hop Shed
Distance from Farm Shop: 37 miles
The Hop Shed are not only brewers, they’re also hop growers too! When visiting the Hop Shed in the beautiful Worcestershire countryside, you’ll see the hop fields surrounding the brewery and tap room. The brewery has some exceptional eco credentials, ensuring that their production processes are efficient with minimal impact on the land which they farm and our wider environment.
Featured product: The Hop Shed’s Frizzle is a 5.0% ABV pale ale. It’s rich and golden with a floral hop aroma.
Hook Norton Brewery Co.
Distance from Farm Shop: 40 miles
Located in the mellow Cotswold countryside, Hook Norton Brewing Co. is a proudly independent, 5th generation family-run business. They’ve combined handcrafted brewing heritage with a modern approach to create a fantastic range of ales.
Their brewery is also home to a shop, Malthouse Kitchen and their Brewery Museum. Their museum is located in the original malt house buildings and there’s even some of the old equipment from over the years to see. It is thought that commercial brewing began at the site in 1856.
Featured product: First launched in 2024 in celebration of 175 years of brewing, Tower Ale has now joined their seasonal range. This 4.2% ABV celebration ale has a floral aroma and a fruit palate with hints of passionfruit and grapefruit.
