This British Sandwich Week, why not try our recipe for this delightful Ploughman’s sandwich? Inspired by the traditional lunch, this tasty sandwich perfectly blends sweet and savoury flavours.
Fill a Becketts’ bakery crusty baguette with gammon ham, Cheddar cheese, pickles and mustard mayonnaise. You’ll find all the ingredients you need for this moreish sandwich in our Farm Shop!

Serves: 1
Ingredients
Becketts’ Bakery crusty baguette
2 tbsp mayonnaise
1 tsp wholegrain mustard
Half a small Braeburn apple
3 slices of Becketts’ Deli gammon ham
50g Cheddar cheese – we recommend Worcestershire Gold or Black Bomber, both available from our Deli counter
2 tbsp Mrs Darlington’s Ploughman’s Pickle
A handful of fresh rocket leaves
Method
1. Cut the end off your crusty baguette and slice down the middle.
2. In a small bowl, mix the mayonnaise with the mustard in small quantities. Taste test as you go along to reach your desired flavour and add more mustard if you like.
3. Slice the apple into thin pieces.
4. Spread the mustard mayonnaise inside the baguette then fill with the ham, cheese and apple slices.
5. Top with pickle and the rocket leaves then cut in half and enjoy.
