We have raised £302.39 for Macmillan
Staff at Becketts took part in our annual Great British Bake Off on Friday 29th September. There was a variety of cakes baked which included a giant jaffa cake, salted caramel brownie, carrot and pecan cake, chocolate cupcakes, lime tray bake, rice crispy cakes and of course theultimate Macmillan cake which was announced the winner.
The cakes were judged on presentation and taste by the Hospitality Director, Jim and Assistant Head Chef, Rob. In first place was the Chocolate cake topped with fudge and mint aero, in second place was the carrot cake topped with pecans and in third place was the giant Jaffa cake.
The cakes were then sold in the coffee shop for £1 a slice and all proceeds went straight to Macmillan. As well as the cake sale, £1 from every hot drink sold within the restaurant on Friday 29th September was donated to our collection. A total of £302.39 will be sent to Macmillan on behalf of Becketts Farm.
Here at Becketts we try to support as many charities as possible and also work closely with Acorns and St Basils. Keep a look out for future charity events we support at beckettsfarm.co.uk.
