Ready in; 90 minutes
Makes; 8 burgers
1kg Becketts’ Butchery beef mince
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Small handful chopped fresh flatleaf parsley
1 large pickled gherkin, finely chopped
1 large free-range egg yolk
Fowlers Cheddar cheese, available from our Deli counter
8 burger buns, available from our Bakery counter
A jar of Charlie & Ivy’s chipotle mayonnaise, available from our Gifts and Goodies section
Evesham tomatoes, available from our Greengrocers counter
1 small red onion, finely chopped
Place all the ingredients for the burgers in a large bowl. Season and mix well. Cover and chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
Pre-heat the BBQ and using wet hands, shape the mixture into 8 burgers. Brush both sides of the burgers with a little sunflower oil and cook for 3-4 minutes either side until cooked.
Just before they are ready to serve add a slice or two of Fowlers Cheddar cheese to the top of the burgers, so it melts a little.
Slice the bread rolls, add a spoonful of Charlie & Ivy’s chipotle mayonnaise onto the base of the bread bun. Add some tomato, lettuce, then the burger and sprinkle on some red onion. Top the burger with the other half of the bun and ENJOY!
